Unite NY Executive Director Tim Dunn issued the following statement in response to Connecticut Governor LaMont forming a working group to enable RCV

“Today, Connecticut Governor Lamont took an important step in combatting voter apathy by establishing a working group to explore the best way to bring rank choice voting to all forms of elections across his state. This is what leadership looks like and what voters in New York say they want. 

New York City has rank choice voting in its local and citywide elections because it works. It may be too late to pass important elections reforms in this legislative session, but Unite NY and our partner organizations won’t back down until voters in New York have more voices and more choices.”
